The Mysteries of God

Do you ever find yourself questioning whether or not to trust God when your prayers go unanswered?  Have you ever cried out to God and wondered why is all this happening?  I find myself with lots of questions as we have marked a year anniversary of this Covid-19 pandemic.  So many lives have changed, been uprooted, and turned upside down, and yet perhaps there is great work happening.   Perhaps God is working all things out in ways that we can never imagine and maybe in ways that we may never see.  Is that something that you can live with?  Can you begin to understand the ways of God?  The bigger question is, are we supposed to even comprehend the ways of God?

Can you fathom the mysteries of God?  Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?  They are higher than the heavens -what can you do?  They are deeper than the depths of the grave-what can you know?

It is often said, “God works in mysterious ways.”  Perhaps it’s not a mystery at all, but more along the lines of God does what God does and we have no clue why he does it.  The amazing thing is that somehow God always knows how things are going to work out even though we can’t quite seem to understand it at all.

Psalm 27:14 states, “Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Is your faith strong enough to handle the disappointments of life?  Do you consider yourself a faithful person and yet find yourself doubting that God is really at work in your life?  The following quote inspired me to consider that even if you question your faith, never question that God can be trusted.

“Faith is not denying the hardship, but trusting God in the midst of it.”

Is there something going on in your life now that you just can’t seem to understand how God is going to work it all out for your good?  That seems to be a question that we ponder quite often, “Why is this happening?”  Maybe instead of asking “why”, we should be asking, “what now.”  When something unexpected happens or unexplainable, try saying, “Ok God, what now?”  What do I need to do with what God has given me to deal with?  “God doesn’t give you more that you can handle, God helps you handle what you have been given.”  That gives me comfort!

The Lord is faithful, He will strengthen and protect you.

2 Thessalonians 3:3

I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that God is with you. He will give you comfort through all your trials and struggles.  He will bless you through it all if we only take a moment to recognize he is faithful.  God bless you and give you peace!

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26
