My Story

This site is filled with interesting and inspirational articles and parenting tidbits that I have created over the last 30 years. Before having children I always dreamed of being a children’s book writer and inspiring kids to want to learn to read with entertaining and engaging stories. So with my English degree in hand and completing the Child Writer’s Guild program I was ready to get started.

I began my writing career by providing reviews of new children’s books to our local newspaper. Later in 1988, I was asked by my church to write a monthly article on parenting entitled, “Becoming the Parent God Wants You to Be.” This was a perfect outlet to share my thoughts on parenting and family life from a faithful perspective. These articles were based on my own experiences of raising four active and energetic kids. They focused on building character, discipline, Christian living, communication skills, responsibility, values, forgiveness, memories, and many other topics. Each article was inspired by my own life challenges and supported by authors that were well regarded for their writings on the subjects. Many articles were also validated by moms that walked along beside me in our weekly kids playgroups, women’s Bible study and prayer groups.
